What to Expect at Your Visit
Attention / Intention / Alignment / Integration
Our first visit together will be one of getting to know each other. We will sit for a moment to chat about how you are feeling, physically and emotionally. We will discuss your history of injury, movement patterns, work habits, daily activities, and health. I may take a visual standing and walking assessment to see where you are holding patterns of tension in your body. Following this there will be a centering breath practice to ground you in your body and in the space. Once we have grounded we will proceed with either your movement or bodywork session.
I like to take time with new clients for assessment and grounding so that I can get a clear picture of you as a whole person with your own patterns, habits, challenges, and triumphs. This helps guide me in our sessions, and I think you deserve that kind of attention.
I blend my own massage oils using 100% Organic Jojoba oil and therapeutic essential oils.
Bodywork sessions are performed with sheets and a blanket covering all parts of your body that are not being worked on. You are welcome to leave on or take off as much clothing as you are comfortable. You are also encouraged to express your likes and dislikes in regard to pressure, room temperature, music, and the modalities being used in our session. It is important that you know you are in control of this therapeutic session and the session is here in service to you and your needs.
My therapy studio is a safe place for you. Massage and yoga can release emotions that are being held in our tissues. This is natural and normal. You are supported in expressing those emotions in any way that feels appropriate to you. You are also welcome to ask for a break from our session or to end the session early if you need.
My clients' wellbeing is of utmost importance to me.
The Breath+Gravity studio is both serene and
uplifting. On the second story tucked amidst the
maple leaves and visited by hummingbirds, you
can relax and and feel more at home in
your own body.
